Hay Fever

What is it?

Here we go again, the summer arrives and so do the symptoms. Also called Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis, hay fever is caused by an allergic reaction to pollen and sometimes to the spores given off by mould.

When you come into contact with these allergens, your immune system thinks it is under attack and releases a chemical called histamine, which is to blame for those oh-so-familiar symptoms.

How do you feel?

Under attack, that's how! One day you're fine, the next you're sneezing, your eyes are sore and watery, and your throat's itchy. You might also get headaches, a stuffy nose or blocked sinuses. Some people even lose their sense of smell or taste. But it's not all bad news - you can fight back with the right weapons. In treatments containing acrivastine, the acrivastine gets to work in 15 minutes to bring effective, long-lasting relief from all the symptoms.
