Pet Allery

How do I treat it?

Some people think that sending your furry friends off to the cats and dogs home will be the end of your allergy. But animals are often part of the family and even if you don't have one of your own, it's hard to avoid animal dander from other people's pets anyway.

There are different treatments available to help manage your symptoms at all times.

If you're likely to be exposed to your allergy over a long period, BENADRYL® One-A-Day Relief offers all day protection. For those occasions when symptoms attack unexpectedly - when you pop in to visit someone who has a pet, for instance - keep BENADRYL® Allergy Relief with you for quick relief. It's the fastest acting capsule available, getting to work in just 15 minutes. BENADRYL® Plus also works in minutes and lasts for up to 8 hours. It's the only antihistamine available over the counter that's combined with a decongestant to also unblock your stuffy nose. So you see, whichever treatment you choose from the BENADRYL® range you'll find effective relief to suit you. Remember, if you are unsure about your diagnosis, or which treatment to use, consult a doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Reducing the risks

You don't have to wave goodbye to Fido, there are ways to significantly reduce the number of allergens in your home:

Pet free zones - Keep animals out of the bedrooms and living rooms

Bathtime! - You might end up as wet as them, but regular baths will help wash away any loose dander

Vacuum regularly - Vacuuming around the house will suck up lots of animal dander. Don't forget to run it over the sofas and armchairs as well as the place where your pet likes to sleep
